 ABSTRACT

One of the challenges in transitioning from a film-based practice to a digital one has been the capture of digital images from a PACS or imaging modality and incorporation of those images into a teaching, interesting case, conference, or research file. The RSNA’s Medical Imaging Resource Center (MIRC) project has developed software to make it easy to capture these images and combine them with clinical information, annotations, and other content to rapidly create a teaching file document that can be reviewed using a standard Internet browser. These teaching file cases can be then stored for access by an individual or made available to a group of authorized persons for educational, clinical, or research purposes. This software is free and can be downloaded from the RSNA’s MIRC site, mirc.rsna.org. The purpose of this course is to teach participants how to create their own teaching file cases using the MIRC software.
