Accreditation and Designation Statements

The Radiological Society of North America is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

RSNA designates this educational activity for a maximum of 83 category 1 credits toward the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

The AMA has determined that physicians who are not licensed in the United States but who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA category 1 credit.

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP) has approved the direct transfer of CME credit to MPCEC on an hour-for-hour basis for medical physicists.

RSNA is an ARRT-approved Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanism (RCEEM) and will provide Category A continuing education credits for radiologic technologists.

Disclosure Statement

Authors must disclose any financial relationships or affiliations with companies and organizations. If you or any of your co-authors have or have had within the previous 12 months (or at the time the research was conducted) such a financial relationship or affiliation, this information must be disclosed for each such author and each financial relationship or affiliation. In particular, authors who have a financial relationship with or who are affiliated with companies or organizations about whose products or services they are reporting must disclose this information. Likewise, disclosure that no relationships exist is also required.

Financial and FDA off-label disclosure information submitted after the printing of the program book will be available onsite. A list of those authors failing to submit signed disclosure statements prior to the RSNA Meeting will also be available onsite. All other presenting authors have submitted signed statements indicating that neither they nor their co-authors have an affiliation or financial relationship to disclose and will not be discussing FDA off-label use.

Scientific and Plenary Sessions

All scientific and plenary sessions meet the criteria for category 1 credit toward the AMA PRA. Credit for scientific and plenary sessions is earned on an hour-for-hour basis. To register attendance and receive category 1 credit for scientific and plenary sessions, deposit an attendance voucher with the attendant or in the box provided immediately after each session.

Since attendance vouchers are identified by badge number, vouchers are not transferable. Additional attendance vouchers may be obtained at the Help Centers.

If you remain in the same room for more than one session, deposit a voucher after each session. If more than one concurrent session is attended, only one voucher will be honored.

Back to top of this page

Refresher Courses

All refresher courses meet the criteria for category 1 credit toward the AMA PRA. Each refresher course offers 1.5 credits. To register attendance and receive category 1 credit, a refresher course critique form (which will be distributed at the door) must be submitted for each session. Please turn in the completed course critique form when leaving each session.

Back to top of this page

Education Exhibits, Scientific Poster Sessions, and infoRAD Tutorials and Classes

Category 1 credit is available for selected education exhibits on Sunday, 12:30-1:30 PM, and Monday through Thursday, 12:15-1:15 PM. Category 1 credit is also available for scientific poster sessions on Sunday, 12:30-1:30 PM, and Monday through Thursday, 12:15-1:15 PM. Following interchange with the authors, individuals desiring category 1 credit must leave an attendance voucher with the exhibitor or an attendant.

To register attendance and receive category 1 credit for infoRAD Internet tutorials and work-station classes, deposit an attendance voucher with the attendant or in the box provided immediately after each session.

Education Exhibits at RSNA 2005 will include the popular Cases of the Day feature. Each day, from Sunday through Thursday, a new case in each of 13 categories will be posted. Attendees will be able to submit a diagnosis for each case at nearby Internet access point computers or via any Web browser. For each correct diagnosis submitted online, attendees will receive 0.5 AMA PRA category 1 credit.

Disclosure

The RSNA, as an accredited provider of continuing medical education, must obtain signed disclosure statements from all presenters. Disclosures for presenters, who have or have had an affiliation or financial relationship with companies or organizations about whose products or services they are reporting (within the previous 12 months or at the time the research was conducted), are included at the end of the abstract. A star indicates the presenters had nothing to disclose. A triangle indicates disclosure information was unavailable at press time.

RSNA recognizes that at scientific meetings, presenters may discuss the applications of devices, products, or pharmaceuticals for uses that are not FDA approved. In keeping with the highest standards of professional integrity and ethics, RSNA requires that presenters fully disclose to their audiences that off-label use of a commercial device, product, or pharmaceutical that has not been approved for such purpose by the FDA may be discussed. An icon next to the presentation indicates the presenters disclosed such discussions may take place.

Financial and FDA off-label disclosure information submitted after the printing of the RSNA Meeting Program will be available onsite. A list of those authors failing to submit signed disclosure statements prior to the meeting will also be available onsite.

Record of Hours of Attendance

A Record of Hours of Attendance, listing AMA PRA category 1 credits earned or Category A credits earned, will be mailed to registrants who turn in attendance vouchers and critique forms. If the record is incorrect, it is the responsibility of all individuals to correct their records in accordance with the honor system observed in reporting credits. This record of attendance is available only to the individual and will not be submitted to accrediting agencies and other organizations. All individuals should maintain their records of attendance.

Once the Record of Hours of Attendance is distributed, RSNA members may also verify their AMA PRA category 1 credits earned by accessing the RSNA CME Credit Repository (www.rsna.org/cme).
